Guided by its core values and based on the philosophy of the IB, Al-Hayat International School (HIS) places great value on the ethical qualities of integrity and academic honesty. Academic honesty is expected of all members of the school community; students, faculty, staff and parents. HIS teams believe that academic honesty is part of instilling trustworthiness value and being principled, a learner profile attribute where learners strive to “act with integrity and honesty” as we question, inquire and act. On another hand, HIS encourages students to inquire and think critically and creatively; students are then asked to be reflective and give shape to their thinking through oral discussions or presentations, through visual representations and displays, and in multiple forms of writing. Therefore, this is essentially what academic honesty is: making knowledge, understanding and thinking transparent.
